The last week of June I took my family up the local mountains to a annual event called Moonlight Madness. The main event runs from dusk till we hours of the morning. The 6x12 box trailer just does not fit my growing family any more so we decided to splurge with a RV from Cruise America. We had a great time & the showers are even better. I'm trying to post with Instagram vids to see how it works out verses YouTube, tell me what you think.

My oldest daughter & I made a run for the fire tower at Buck Rock in the Sequoia National Forest. We met up with several wheelers from the Central Valley Crawlers Club that was doing trail work for the Forest Service, one of them is a good friend named @ToyotaDon. It was a fast paced 14 hour 270 mile day that blurred right past us. We had so much fun I all most forgot to get pics, but we did get a few & would like to share them with you. Enjoy!

Turf n Surf 2017

Late update... time sure flies.

Back in November we made a 270 mile 17 hour day trip to the TurfnSurf 2017 event. It all went by to fast, it was an awesome time.

These 80 series rigs are the best family rigs ever, run then down the freeway for hours, wheel them all day long then go back down the freeway all the way home. Simply amazing.

Since that great day at Turf N Surf the Lx has been pulling DD duty. 

Thanksgiving happened.

Christmas happened.

Winter happened, but rain didn't happen, well very little, so no snow play days for us this year.

There has been no time for play as of late, work, family & other responsibilities etc...

Wow, time sure does fly bye.

The Cruiser has been very dependable no real mechanical issues except a drip of power steering fluid once in awhile, this is on the list.

Well I might as well write my lists:

Needs:

New fuel tank, charcoal canister & while I'm in there stuff.

Power steering rebuild.

Electric fan install.

Front & rear axle rebuild.

Wants:

Tubing rear quarter panel protection.

If I even get to do two of those in 2018 it will be a good 2018.

I was able to make another Run to Bald Mtn.

Every year the 4x4Him.com club brings up troubled teens to go 4 wheeling. I was able to participate this year & had a great time.

@ToyotaDon you were truly missed by many that day.

We headed For the Hills a 3 hour drive early Saturday morning to Blue Canyon for the Fresno 4x Club Run it was a very long day, but we'll worth it. As my oldest kid & I were walking around talking with people before the start we came across two other 80 series owners that are actually on the ih8mud.com forum that I use. So we did the run together along with two Yota rigs. It was a great time of wheelin & talking about wheelin. It was a long day but went buy fast... does that make sence? Here is some pics & vid. I had all these grand thoughts of writing up a great entry about our trip but life & time just slips bye.

So here is the quick & dirty entry... Donal & I finally where able to go wheelin together & it so happened to be the same weekend as the MoonLight Madness Event on Bald Mountain near Shaver Lake, CA

We where able to pre run the loop Friday the day before the other 400 rigs got there the next day. I counted a total of  six 80 series up there that weekend.

I had a great time, I slept in the back of the Lx for the 1st time, it work out pretty good.

We did some good wheelin on Bald Mtn with @Shoredreamer & two of his friends Joe & Dan... I don't known their avatar name... & then came across @mjeckell also. It was a great day. It was a 263 mile 13 hour round trip.
